I accidentally fell in love with type design, and more specifically, the engraved type on the historical Bemis building in Seattle. A high waist and great contrast are characteristics of this classic caps and 3/4 caps typeface that inspired my debut typeface, with ornaments to boot.
Bellas Artes is what happens when the brush of Angel Koziupa and the technical expertise of Alejandro Paul go face to face with the Art Deco aesthetic. The recognizable Koziupa curves become players of a game of halves, where there is no such thing as a better half, but both sides complete each other like in that perfect romance you will never forget.
Bellas Artes is an excellent choice not only for packaging design, but also for book and music covers meant for the feminine demographic, collateral of classical taste, and of course pre-WWII visuals.

Beefcake treads the line of serious and playful. Just enough attitude to kick its legs over the baseline but not so much that it becomes annoying. If Beefcake had a chip on its shoulder they were knocked off as you can see by the softened corners. The angled terminals are fan favorites and the extent of its playfulness. On the other hand the strong back and hefty line weights let you know it’s willing to put in some long hours and carry a burden. Beefcake is a perfect choice for those times when the typographic personality needs to be strong, but not take itself too seriously.
Beeble is a heavy sans-serif font, with a design resembling ethnic patterns, which also gives it a slightly distressed and grunge look.
The first in a series of typefaces based on the work of legendary lettering artist Alf Becker, whose works appeared in Signs of the Times magazine for almost thirty years.
Originally titled “Extreme Thin Gothic”, this was Becker’s 185th design for the magazine.
Both versions of the font include the 1252 Latin and 1250 CE character sets (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).
